Aishath Mohamed Didi appointed Ambassador to India

Aishath Mohamed Didi has been appointed Maldivian Ambassador to India.

Aishath Mohamed Didi was appointed Ambassador to India by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih in a function held at the President’s Office last Saturday.

It is the first appointment by Solih to the Head of a Diplomatic Mission since his assumption to office.

Aishath Mohamed Didi served as Minister of Gender from 2005-2008 during former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom’s presidency.

She received her higher education in education, and last served as Executive Director (Academic) of Villa College.

The appointment of an Ambassador to India comes with Solih scheduled to make his first State visit to India next Monday – marking his first State visit to a foreign country since assumption to office.
