Adheeb signs to newly formed party

Forme Vice President, Ahmed Adheeb Abdul Gafoor, has signed to the newly formed political party, Maldives Third-Way Democrats.

Elections Commission approved the formation of the Maldives Third-Way Democrats, the new political party founded by President of Maldivian National Chamber of Commerce and Industries (MNCCI), Ismail Asif.

Mariyam Nashwa, the wife of the former Vice President, told Sun Media that Adheeb signed to the new party this evening.

During his time as the President of MNCCI, Adheeb worked with Ismail Asif, who was the Vice President at the time, before Adheeb was appointed as the Tourism Minister before becoming the Vice President.

The former Vice President was serving a 33-year prison sentence for his involvement in the explosion on board the Presidential Launch after being convicted of three different charges before being moved to house arrest last Tuesday.

 

Due to poor health, Adheeb had recently brought to Male’ City and had an emergency kidney surgery.
