MTD aims to boost membership to 10,000 by 2028

Maldives Third-Way Democrats (MTD) aims to boost its membership to 10,000 by 2028, says the party’s council member Hussain Zaid.

Zaid made the remark at the opening of the party’s office on Tuesday night.

“The work we begin today is to reach across the Maldives, make the voice of the youth heard, and make this the biggest and most successful political party,” he said.

He asked the Maldivian people, especially the youth, to join the party.

“The purpose of opening this office is to continue our party’s work and show the people where we, the youth, are at,” he said.

MTD’s office, located in G. Uthurubin, was opened by former deputy speaker Reeko Moosa Manik.

At the ceremony, MTD’s council member and former Civil Court judge, Mohamed Haleem highlighted on the founding of the party.

Haleem said that the party was founded in prison.

“Former vice president Adeeb wrote this party’s constitution from prison. He wrote the party’s manifesto from prison. He initiated work on establishing this party from prison,” he said.

Haleem said the MTD envisions empowering the country’s youth to draw its chart.
