A second accident has taken place on the Hulhumale’ highway which connects to the Sina-Male’ Bridge, less than 12 hours after the previous one.
Maldives Police Service reports the most recent accident took place at approximately 6 am this Tuesday when a van headed to Hulhumale’ from Male’ City lost control at the fork on the highway and crashed into the side fence.
MPS says the driver of the van, a foreigner, was injured in the crash.
The driver was first taken to Hulhumale’ Hospital for treatment but was later transported to the Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in Male’ City.
The details of his injuries are unclear at this point.
This is the second accident to take place on the highway in less than 12 hours.
Four people – including one teenager - were injured when two motorcycles headed to Male’ City over the highway collided at approximately 11 pm last Monday.
