Oman Air has resumed flights in the Maldives after stopping their flight operations in the country back in 2016.
The airline originally began flight operations in the Maldives in 2009 with flights between Muscat and Male’. Oman Air took pauses in their operation in the country until 2016 before stopping their operations in the country.
Today, Oman Air has resumed their flights to the Maldives with the first flight arriving from Muscat at 1:30 p.m. today.
Oman Air has resumed flights with 737 MAX 8 planes which has 12 business class seats and 150 economy class seats.
Four flights a week between Muscat and Male’ City have been announced by Oman Air. The flights will be on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
The Oman Air flight today received a warm welcome at Velana International Airport with a water salute.
The airline also offers passengers on the flight to experience the cultural sites of Oman.
Oman Air has said that at the end of the current upgrading phase, they would be operating flights to 60 destinations with 70 planes.
This year, Oman Air has started flights to Istanbul, Turkey, along with Casablanca, Morocco, and are set to begin flights to Moscow, Russia, on 30 October.
