Meedhoo MP Ahmed Siyam Mohamed has paid a visit to Dh. Bandidhoo to examine damage from the torrential rain and whirlwind which hit the island last Tuesday.
Bandidhoo Council reports the leader of Maldivian Development Alliance (MDA) visited homes in Bandidhoo and provided aid to affected homes last Tuesday evening.
The whirlwind damaged two homes, a school classroom and a historical mosque on the island.
Bandidhoo Council says the rooms of the homes in Bandidhoo which’s roofs were thrown away in the whirlwind are not yet habitable. But that damage to the school has been repaired and homes have been protected with sacks of sand to prevent further flooding.
The Council says its preparing a report to send to Disaster Management Center.
