Ten arrested in relation to Addu gang violence

Maldives Police Service has arrested ten people in relation to the violence that erupted between two gangs in Hithadhoo, Addu City. 

Police Media Official told Sun Media that the gang violence in Addu City was reported around 9:40 p.m. tonight and ten people have been arrested in relation to the crime. 

Two people were attacked and injured to the head with sharp objects. One of those people is 17 years of age. The injured are now being treated at Hithadhoo Regional Hospital. The hospital has said that their condition is not critical. 

After the gang violence, the offenders stopped a motorcycle driving by and set it on fire. The vehicle had burned beyond use.
