The condition of the Chinese woman – one of the two Chinese tourists struck by the propeller of a speedboat last Monday – is showing signs of improvement.
The woman was on honeymoon with her husband at the Finolhu Baa Atoll Maldives, a resort on B. Kanifushi when the incident took place.
The couple were snorkeling when they were struck by the propeller of a speedboat which entered the lagoon of the resort island.
The husband, a 27-year-old Chinese citizen, died immediately. And the woman, a 24-year-old Chinese citizen suffered extensive injuries to her face.
A media official at Maldives Police Service reported that the woman was transported to Male’ City from the B. Atoll Hospital last Monday.
“Sun” has been informed the woman is being treated at the Tree Top Hospital in Hulhuame’. And that she is showing signs of improvement.
Meanwhile, the body of the man is being kept at the Galolhu Cemetery’s mortuary.
MPS says the incident is under investigation by the authority.
