Evidence judges were influenced confiscated from Najma’s residence!

Evidence Dhiggaru MP Ahmed Faris Maumoon worked on influencing judges was discovered in a black box confiscated from the residence of Najma Ibrahim – an employee at former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom’s residence, says Maldives Police Service.

Speaking at a press conference held by MPS last Sunday night, the Police Spokesperson, Chief Superintendent of Police Ahmed Shifan said the black box was found in a special operation run by the police.

He said the police discovered evidence Faris worked on influencing Supreme Court judges inside the box.

“Evidence needed for investigation into this case was found in a black box smuggled out of Endherimaage [Maumoon’s residence]. The box had evidence Faris worked on influencing judges. The box was discovered in a special operation run by the police. I assure you this box was found from the residence of Najma, who worked for former President Maumoon and is currently in police custody,” said Shifan.

He said the police have questioned 30 people and searched 15 properties for investigation into the case. He said the police have evidence suspects involved in the case purchased expensive properties from abroad.

Najma was arrested under court order on January 31.
