Tree Top Hospital opens in Hulhumale’

The first multi-specialty hospital in Maldives, Tree Top Hospital has opened in Hulhumale’.

The USD 110 million Tree Top Hospital says it offers services of experienced medical doctors from 35 different countries.

Marketing, Brand and Communications Manager of Tree Top, Ifthan Maumoon said patients can currently book appointments via phone call, but that online booking services via its website will be launched soon.

OPD services at the hospital will begin at 9 am.

“Registration will begin at 8:30 in the morning. During registration, each patient will receive a patient card. No fee will be charged for registration,” said Ifthan.

Ifthan said all doctors at the Tree Top Hospital are specialists.

The regular rate for appointments is MVR 750, but Maldivians will only be charged MVR 525 as part of a special discount.

“There are a lot of people here to see the doctors even now. Appointments are also being made,” said Iftan.

The Tree Top Hospital, with its modern services and equipment has five categories of rooms and 210 beds.

The hospital offers MRI, CT scan, cardiac surgery, chemo therapy, neuro surgery, oncology and dialysis services.

Tree Top Hospital is managed by Australia’s Ramsay Group and Malaysia’s Sime Darby.

Tree Top reports the hospital will have special hourly ferries to transport patients from Male’ City to Hulhumale’. Tree Top Investments already runs a clinic in Male’ City which provides services of a specialist doctor each week.

The Tree Top Hospital is expected to create market for medical tourism in Maldives.
