Letters to Supreme Court to be addressed to Judge Areef

Supreme Court of the Maldives has issued a circular stating that all letters to the Supreme Court and the Department of Judicial Administration (DJA) has to be addressed to the Supreme Court Judge, Abdulla Areef.

A circular from the court in 2012 stated that the letters to the Supreme Court and the DJA are to be addressed to the Chief Justice.

The circular issued today said that starting today the letters to the Supreme Court and JDA are to be addressed to Judge Areef because the Chief Justice, Abdulla Saeed has been suspended from his duties.

And further said that the Chair of the Supreme Court's Judge's Council is the Chief Justice but if the he is absent, the next senior judge would take the position.
