Chief Superintendent Hamdhoon promoted to Assistant Commissioner of Police

Chief Superintendent, Hamdhoon Rasheed, has been promoted to the position of the Assistant Commissioner of Police.

The head of security for the Presidential Election, Hamdhoon, has previously worked as the head of Public Safety and Security Operations and the Crime Investigation Department of the police.

Now Assistant Commissioner, Hamdhoon, has led of major investigations with over 20 years in the Maldives Police Service includeing the IED explosion on board the Presidential Launch.

During the course of the political turmoil in the country, Police Commissioner, Ahmed Areef, was dismissed from the position along with the Deputy Commissioner, Ahmed Saudhee who took over as the acting Commissioner.

The current acting Commissioner is the Assistant Commissioner, Abdulla Navaz.
