A mascot for the Maldivian team has been unveiled, for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Challenge Cup which kicked off at 4:00 p.m. at the National Stadium in Male’ today.
The mascot was launched by Minister of Youth and Sports Maleeh Jamal at a ceremony this afternoon.
Maleeh noted that the whole country was excited about the tournament, and said that the mascot will help increase support for the Maldivian team.
He also reminded supporters of fair play, and advised them to respect and be hospitable to the visiting teams.
The mascot will parade along the main streets of Male’ with the theme song of the AFC Challenge Cup, until 5:00 p.m. today.
