Young man in ICU after falling from tree

A 19-year-old man is being treated at ICU in Hithadhoo Regional Hopital after falling from a 20-foot coconut palm tree on Sunday afternoon.

The man was injured around 2:30 p.m. and was in critical condition when he was brought in, Hithadhoo Regional Hospital said.

The man suffered internal injuries, including damages to the head. His condition is now improving, the hospital said today.

Person in-charge of Hithadhoo Regional Hospital Khadheeja Hafsa said the hospital is preparing to transport the patient to Male’ because the hospital could not find an available surgeon.
