Local Government Authority (LGA) has suspended Male’ City Council’s Mahchangolhi South Member Ibrahim Mamnoon for five days without pay.

President of LGA, Defence Minister Mohamed Nazim informed in a letter addressed to Male’ City Council Mayor Mohamed Shihab, that the authority had decided to suspend Mamnoon in relation to an ethics violation under investigation by the police.

In the letter, LGA also advised PPM councillor Mamnoon to keep his actions within the boundaries of the code of conduct of councillors.

Mamnoon told Sun Online that he had been informed of his suspension by City Council, but he had not been asked to provide a statement in relation to the case against him.
