Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has dismissed its Deputy Chief Executive Officer Hussain Naeem and Head of Finance Ahmed Nazim.
This was confirmed at a meeting of the company’s Board of Directors yesterday.
Hussain Naeem, who has served MPL for 22 years, told Sun Online that he received his letter of dismissal yesterday, and no reason was given for his dismissal.
Ahmed Nazim said that he was dismissed following the company's decision to eliminate the post of Finance Head.
The present CEO of MPL is Mahdhy Imad, who was dismissed from this post by former President Dr Mohamed Waheed. He was reinstated by President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.
Prior to Mahdhy, the post of CEO of MPL was held by Mohamed Latheef.
Former President Waheed dismissed Mahdhy when his salary was increased to MVR 100,000. His current salary is MVR 62,000.
