Moosa Naseer elected Vice President of LGA

Moosa Naseer has been elected as the Vice President of the Local Government Authority (LGA).

Prior to this appointment, Naseer was the member appointed to LGA Board from Kaafu, Alifu Alifu, Alifu Dhaalu, Vaavu, Meemu, Faafu, Dhaalu, and Thaa Atolls. He is also a member of Meemu Atoll Council.

Six out of eight members present at today’s board meeting voted in favour of electing Naseer as Vice President of LGA.

His opponent, former Vice President of LGA Sujau Hussain received two votes. Sujau was removed from the post through a no-confidence vote.

The Board of LGA currently has eight members – short of one member as the parliament has yet to elect its representative to LGA.
