Case requesting to remove grandchildren from home dismissed

Civil Court has dismissed a case filed by a woman requesting the court to notify her two grandchildren to leave home.

The case was filed to Civil Court last year by Habeeba Mohamed, G. Dhooveli.

Civil Court ruled yesterday that it will not proceed with this case, as Habeeba had earlier given her share of Dhooveli to her husband and seven children through a Civil Court ruling. The court said that Habeeba cannot revoke her decision to give her share of Dhooveli to her children.

The ruling by Judge Abdulla Jameel Moosa also said that Habeeba does not have the legal capacity to ask her grandchildren to leave a house which she had earlier given to her children.
