Two members appointed to MMA board

President Abdulla Yameen has appointed Minister of Youth and Sports Mohamed Maleeh Jamaal and Hussain Hilmy of Ma. Vahaari to the Board of Directors of the central bank, Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA).

Excluding the two new appointments, MMA Board of Directors now comprises of the Governor, Deputy Governor Aishath Zahira, Assistant Governor Dr Azeema Adam, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry Finance and Treasury Ismail Ali Manik and Mohamed Solih of M. Shuaaz.

The President has nominated Associate Director of Bank of Maldives (BML) Ibthishama Ahmed Saeed as the new Governor of MMA. The appointment is pending approval from the parliament.
