The national airline Maldivian's flight, carrying Umrah pilgrims directly from Jeddah, has resolved the technical problem it experienced earlier on Saturday, and has departed from Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, bound for the Maldives.

Flight Q2-6361 had reportedly experienced a technical issue, but the problem has been rectified, and the journey is now underway.

A Maldivian official informed Sun that the flight took off from Jeddah airport two hours after the aircraft was grounded, and the issue was resolved. However, the official did not elaborate on the nature of the technical issue.

Hajj Corporation Managing Director Mohamed Shakeel also told Sun that the flight departed at 2010 hours, local time, and that the Umrah pilgrims are expected to arrive in the early hours of Sunday.

Some Maldivian aircraft, utilized for both domestic and international routes, have occasionally encountered technical glitches and departure delays.
