Transport Ministry announced on Wednesday that it has restored its online services, after fixing an issue with the server that led to an IT outage the previous day.

The ministry’s online services got disrupted on Tuesday, due to an issue that the ministry said resulted from its server overheating.

A spokesperson from the ministry told Sun that the IT team managed to fix the issue on Tuesday night.

All online services have now been restored, said the spokesperson.

The IT outage on Tuesday disrupted many of the services provided by the Transport Ministry.

Transport Minister Mohamed Ameen told Sun earlier in July that the ministry has contracted a local firm to develop a new digital portal where customers can access all services provided by the ministry.

He said that the ministry’s previous portal lacks the necessary security features.

Ameen expects the new portal will be ready in six months.
