The Right Honourable Sir Lindsay Hoyle, Speaker of the House of Commons, UK, paid a courtesy call on Maldives President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on Wednesday, July 16th at the Speaker's House in the Palace of Westminster, London.
President Muizzu is currently visiting the United Kingdom for high-level meetings and engagments with key British dignitaries.
The meeting underscored the enduring partnership between the Maldives and the United Kingdom, with discussions focusing on advancing shared priorities, particularly in environmental stewardship, sustainable tourism, fisheries, and the promotion of democratic governance.
Following the call, President Muizzu signed the Guestbook to mark the occasion and was later given a guided tour of the Palace of Westminster.
President Muizzu is accompanied by a senior delegation during his visit. According to the President's Office, discussions will focus on enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, and education.
The visit is expected to further reinforce the long-standing relationship and cooperation between the two countries, President's Office added.
