PMFA hosts farewell dinner for Deputy Head of Mission of Pakistan HC

Pakistan Maldives Friendship Association (PMFA) has hosted a farewell dinner for Deputy Head of Mission of Pakistan High Commission in the Maldives Zulqurnain Ahmad and his wife, Naila Zulqurnain.

Zulqurnain is scheduled to depart the Maldives on Thursday, July 17, after completing his diplomatic assignment in the Maldives as Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan to the country.

The farewell event, which served as a fitting tribute to Zulqurnain’s valuable contributions during his tenure in the Maldives, was attended by PMFA EXCO members, distinguished guests from the diplomatic corps, and a mix of Pakistani and Maldivian fellows.

Speaking during the event, PMFA’s Vice President Hamdhoon Rasheed and Secretary General Mariyam Fizana commended Zulqurnain’s dedicated efforts in revitalizing the PMFA and strengthening the bonds between the people of Pakistan and the Maldives.

Zulqurnain, who also spoke at the event, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the PMFA’s efforts in strengthening ties and enhancing mutual understanding between the two communities. He thanked PMFA President Muhammad Tariq for effectively managing the organization’s activities in close coordination with EXCO Members.

He highlighted the important role the organization plays in further deepening the existing friendship. Zulqurnain also expressed his gratitude to the brotherly people of the Maldives, the PMFA, and the Pakistani community for their support during his tenure. In addition, he extended thanks to the High Commissioners under whose leadership he served in the Maldives.

As the Maldives prepares to celebrate its Independence Day on July 26, Zulqurnain extended warm greetings and wished the country continued progress, development, and prosperity.

The event concluded with a symbolic farewell wishes cake cutting, representing the warm relationship and affection shared between the people of both countries.
