Rasdhoo man with serious burns dies

Ali Shamin, the local man from AA. Rasdhoo, who along with his wife, had sustained serious burns after an incident at their residence on March 25^th had passed away amid treatment.

Shamin, aged 31, was confirmed dead sometime on Monday, April 14^th. He was being treated in India at the time of demise.

Both Shamin and his wife were brought to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) following the incident, and were treated under intensive care. Not long after the two were brought to Male’ City, Shamin’s wife had passed away on March 31^st.

A burn and plastic surgery specialist from India was flown in to treat the couple.

Shamin was transported to India sometime in April for further medical treatment.

A local from Rasdhoo earlier commented that the incident took place in the couple’s home, and added the couple had been completely burned. Although the couple sustained serious burns, their five year old child did not sustain any injuries.
