Local telecom giant Ooredoo Maldives has announced its decision to offer 19 Umrah trips and a Hajj trip for two as gifts for their beloved customers in commemoration of the company’s 12th anniversary.
The announcement was made during a press conference held at the Ooredoo headquarters on Wednesday morning to launch the company’s ‘Live Unlimited’ campaign to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
Speaking during the press conference, Ooredoo's Chief Commercial Officer Hussain Niyaz explained that the "Live Unlimited" campaign reflects the idea that, currently, there are no limitations when it comes to technology in the Maldives.
Niyaz also spoke regarding the lucky draw announced under the ‘Live Unlimited’ campaign – featuring 19 Umrah trips and a Hajj trip.
In this regard, he detailed that the Umrah trip will be awarded to 19 customers who will be selected every 20 days through a lucky draw. A Hajj trip for two is the grand prize selected at the end of the lucky draw, he added. According to Niyaz, customers will automatically be enrolled in the campaign once they conduct a transaction above MVR 250.
Niyaz said the campaign was designed based on the phenomenal support received for Ooredoo’s motorbike giveaway campaign last year.
Apart from this, Ooredoo has several other plans scheduled throughout this year in commemoration of its 20th anniversary.
They include the ‘Smart(er) Home’ initiative, where customers can now enjoy a bundled offer that includes essential smart home devices such as a security camera and smart doorbell, bringing convenience, security, and peace of mind to households across the Maldives.
Similar to previous years, Ooredoo will also hold the company’s flagship events, Fun Run and Mas Race, this year as well.
It is also appointing a new ambassador: Rashid Adam, more popularly known on social media by his channel name “The Life of a Fisherman” shares his journey and adventures as a pole and line fisherman from Faresmaathoda.
Ooredoo will also be introducing a near service: Apple Watch Cellular Service powered by Ooredoo eSIM services for Apple Watch Series 10 and Apple Watch Ultra. This is a first of its kind in the Maldives and will be free for six months to all mobile customers after which the service will be available.
The service will allow them to stay connected directly from their Apple Watch without needing their phone nearby.
Ooredoo Maldives’ anniversary is August 1st.
