Theft tops crime reports in Jan

Dozens of cases of theft have been reported to the police less than a month into the new year, making it the most frequently reported crime overall.

According to data shared by the police, the agency has received 73 reports of theft so far this year. This is followed by reports of 53 traffic accidents.

• Lost items: 26
• Vandalism: 18
• Embezzlement: 12
• Robbery: 9
• Assault: 7
• Sexual offenses: 3
• Domestic violence: 3

The high reports of theft and traffic accidents mark a continuation of the same trend seen last year.
