Weather to worsen again from tomorrow onwards, says Met

Maldives Metrological Service (Met Office) has forecasted that weather conditions will deteriorate for majority of the Maldives starting Monday.

According to the Met Office, fine weather and calm seas are expected across majority of Maldives over the next 24 hours. However, the weather will worsen from Monday onwards due to clouds formed both east of Maldives, south of Sri Lanka, and west of Maldives.

Met Office states majority of the nation is expected bad weather conditions, with the clouds set to prevail over Maldives for approximately four days.

Notably, heavy rain throughout Friday and Saturday led to the Maldivian capital being severely flooded. 44 people whose homes were impacted by the floods were provided temporary housing.
