Stolen goods worth MVR 2 mil recovered, handed to owner

Maldives Police Service has recovered stolen items worth MVR 2 million and handed them over to the owner.

Police said the items were stolen from a Galolhu district residence sometime on Tuesday. The stolen items include foreign currency, cameras and their lenses, smartphones and an Apple MacBook. Other items include a Bluetooth speaker and charging cables.

The law enforcement authority said they recovered the items with the assistance of Galolhu Police, and the departments of Criminal Investigation and Response and Patrol.

In 2024, police received a total of 3,751 reports related to theft and robbery.
