President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, on Sunday, said he has not received any information regarding any sort of corruption allegations involving the National Social Protection Agency (NSPA).

President Muizzu was questioned whether he was aware of the corruption allegations against NSPA during a press conference held outside of the President’s Office with a few journalists.

In response, the President said he has not yet received any information regarding any sort of corruption allegations involving NSPA.

“If I receive any such information, it will be submitted to the relevant authorities as I have previously said,” he added.

Allegations were raised on social media regarding a transaction conducted over NSPA’s new office building, which had reportedly been sublet to MMTV.

NSPA first denied the allegations.

They later said it was notified to vacate its previous venue, Mookai Suites, as the building was undergoing renovations, adding it had sublet some floors of the new venue to MMTV after seeking a subtenant via an open tender through the Ministry of Finance.

However, following the agreement between NSPA and MMTV, several baseless allegations came to light tarnishing the reputation of MMTV which has resulted in significant financial losses to the company.

In light of this, MMTV had requested to annul the sublet agreement with NSPA which was subsequently followed by the parties discussing on the matter, after which the agency announced its decision to annul the agreement.
