Maldivian Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel departed on Tuesday for Oman on an official visit.
According to the Foreign Ministry, Khaleel left for Oman at the invitation of his Omani counterpart, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi.
He will be in Oman until December 13.
Foreign Ministry said that Khaleel is scheduled to engage in high-level discussions with Albusaidi “to review the longstanding bilateral relations between the Maldives and Oman and explore avenues for future cooperation in areas of mutual interest.”
He will also hold meetings with senior dignitaries of the Omani government to explore opportunities to enhance collaboration in various sectors between the two countries, including trade and investment promotion.
Foreign Ministry said the visit underscores the Maldives’ commitment to fostering strong and mutually beneficial relations with Oman.
Khaleel is accompanied in the visit by Dr. Hala Hameed, Secretary, Bilateral, Fathimath Naeema, Senior Under Secretary and Mohamed Shujau Assistant Director at the Foreign Ministry.
