Maldives Professional Speakers Association (MPSA) has hosted Maldives’ first-ever Professional Speakers Summit.

The landmark event bringing together global and local experts in the art of professional speaking was held at the Maldives National University’s Faculty of Education Auditorium on Saturday and Sunday under the theme ‘Discover and Grow’.

It is designed to inspire participants to enhance their speaking and communication skills and marks the beginning of what is set to become an annual highlight for aspiring speakers in the region.

Speaking at the event, MPSA’s Vice President and Chair of the Summit Afeef Hussain described the event as a proud moment for the Maldivian community as it marks a significant step in expanding the potential of its people and the broader professional speaking community.

The summit featured a powerful lineup of keynote speeches, masterclasses, and panel discussions delivered by experts from around the world. In this regard, the first day saw a series of impactful presentations:

  • Sha Nacino (Global Keynote Speaker) delivered the opening keynote on “Speak to Inspire: 5 Game-Changing Strategies from a Decade on Stage.”
  • Neerja Singh (Vice President, Global Speakers Federation) explored the topic “GenZ: Burden of Truth or Damage of Lies.”
  • Maeesha Asif (Treasurer, MPSA) inspired attendees with her talk on “Start Where You Are: The Transformative Power of Saying Yes.”
  • Ridha Alayad (Airline Industry Leader and Professional Speaker) presented “Style and Substance - An Experience of Learning.”
  • Vinay Pushparkaran (President, PSAI) gave insights on “One Step Forward - Elevate your Impact, One Move at a Time.”
  • Tharaka Appuhamy (L&D Professional and Hotelier) delivered the thought-provoking session “Do You Have Enough Fuel to Fly...”
  • Mohamed Mahdy (Seasoned Hotelier and ICF Coach) shared his inspiring journey in “My Journey and Where I Am Heading.”
  • Dr. Arunaagiri (Global Sales Speaker and Author) offered valuable advice on “Profitable Sales Strategies for Speakers.”
  • Ayesha J. Bibha, CSP (Keynote Speaker and TEDx Speaker) wrapped up the day with her session on “Mind Your Business - Using Mind & Science to Build a Business That Fits Our Lifestyle.”

Through these presentations, participants learned valuable insights on how to build a successful career in professional speaking, lead as communication professionals, and elevate their personal brand. It also provided participants with both practical skills and motivational insights, ensuring they leave with actionable knowledge to advance their careers in professional speaking.
