Maldives National University (MNU) has awarded scholarships to 11 students under its scholarship scheme.
The University opened 24 scholarship opportunities in three categories during the second semester of this year; undergraduate full scholarship, postgraduate full scholarship and tuition fee-free scholarship. The scholarship scheme also includes Shaheed Award which is awarded to the highest-achieving students in the highest-level courses conducted by four faculties of the University during the first semester.
A total of 10 students received scholarships on merit while one student received Shaheed Award.
51 students applied for the 20 slots opened under tuition fee-free scholarship; 33 students applied for two slots opened under the undergraduate full scholarship and 15 students applied for two slots opened under the postgraduate full scholarship. Meanwhile, three students applied for four slots opened under Shaheed Award.
As per MNU, the scholarships were introduced by the University’s council. The scholarships are funded by revenue generated by the University.
