MNU partners with Melbourne University on research collaboration

The Maldives National University (MNU) and the Melbourne University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Monday, for a partnership the MNU described as a significant step towards fostering academic excellence and research collaboration.

The MOU was signed by Dr. Aishath Shehenaaz Adam, Vice Chancellor of MNU, and Rhonda Di Bias, representing Melbourne University.

The signing ceremony on Monday was attended by senior management from MNU and David Jessup, the Australian High Commissioner to the Maldives, highlighting the importance of this partnership at both institutional and national levels.

"Collaborating with Melbourne University, a globally recognized prestigious institution, will significantly enhance MNU's capacity to achieve its goals and aspirations," said Shehenaz, during the ceremony.

MNU said the agreement reflects the shared commitment of the two universities to address global challenges, promote sustainable development, and advance academic and research excellence.

The national university said the partnership also opens avenues for collaborative research, academic exchange programs, and innovative initiatives that will benefit students, faculty, and the wider communities both universities serve.
