A TikTok live was held successfully on Saturday night to raise donations for ‘Mister Maldives’ Mohamed Yameen (Yaanbe) who is in need of medical treatment following dual kidney failure.

The two-hour live was spearheaded by several local TikTokers during which Yameen’s bank account was shared for donations.

A total of MVR 207,674 was deposited to the account in donations to Yameen’s account by the end of live.

Many who participated in the live applauded Yameen for his courage and perseverance. They described him as an individual Maldivians are proud of and expressed their wishes to see Yameen return to bodybuilding in the future whilst holding the national flag.

Yameen conveyed gratitude for the donations.

“..am grateful for Maldivian citizens. I hope I have your trust, even in the future,” he said.

Speaking with Sun earlier, Yameen said he learned both kidneys had failed in early August after blood tests were conducted upon showcasing symptoms. He added that the diagnosis was confirmed when he was at stage five of the disease.

Yameen emphasized that earlier tests had failed to show signs of kidney failure as bodybuilders’ blood contains higher levels of certain components than that of a normal person.

He noted that he has been advised by his doctors to secure a donor at the earliest as he is still in his youth.
