Maldives HC presents letter of credence to Bangladesh President

The newly appointed Maldives High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Shiuneen Rasheed presented her letter of credence to Bangladesh President Mohamed Shahabuddin on Monday.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement confirmed Shiuneen presented the letter at a special ceremony held at the Bangladeshi presidential palace, Bangabhaban in Dhaka.

At the ceremony, President Shahabuddin extended warm reception to the newly appointed High Commissioner, and offered congratulations on her assumption of duties as the High Commissioner Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Maldives to Bangladesh.

Shiuneen in response, expressed her gratitude for the gracious welcome by the Bangladeshi head of state and authorities, and conveyed greetings from President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to the Bangladeshi president and people.

She also reaffirmed the commitment of the Maldives government in strengthening the longstanding bilateral relations between the two countries, emphasizing the importance of exploring new avenues for collaboration.

Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Bangladesh were established on September 22, 1978.
