Transport Ministry flies to Saudi for transportation safety talks

The Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Mohamed Ameen has flown to Saudi Arabia on Monday on an official visit.

The ministry said on X Ameen’s official visit to Saudi Arabia is at the invitation of Saudi’s Transport and Logistics Minister, Saleh bin Nasser Al Jasser and the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Abdulaziz Al-Duailej.

During his formal visit, the minister will be meeting with Saudi government officials to discuss on establishing regulatory frameworks to strengthen the safety measures in transportation.

While Ameen is on an official visit to Saudi Arabia, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Moosa Zameer made an official trip earlier as well. During his visit, Zameer had met with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud.

At Zameer’s meeting with Al-Saud, the two discussed about the long-standing relations between the two countries, areas of mutual benefits and expansion of cooperation between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia.
