Minister of Foreign Affairs Moosa Zameer had an audience with Bahrain's Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The two met at the Al-Qudaibiya Palace during Minister Zameer's ongoing official visit to Bahrain.
Minister Zameer also presented a letter from President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu addressed to Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
"I conveyed the firm commitment by the Government of the Maldives to further strengthen the existing bonds of friendship between the Maldives and Bahrain," Zameer wrote on X.
Zameer also thanked Bahrain's government for the closeness accorded to the Maldives throughout the past few decades and discussed ways to deepen existing bilateral ties between both countries.
The two also deliberated on international issues of mutual interest, including the global economic situation, climate change, and the environment.
Minister Zameer was accompanied to the meeting by the Ambassador-at-Large, Ahmed Nasser; Secretary Bilateral, Dr. Hala Hameed; Joint Secretary, Mariyam Reesha; and Assistant Director, Mizna Waheed.
Zameer began his official visit to Bahrain on Sunday with the aim of strengthening the mutual ties between the two nations.
