Henceforth, the weather forecasting body has urged the public to exercise caution during this period, especially seafarers who have been advised to check weather updates before any voyages.
Southwest monsoon commenced in May. Since then, Maldives has seen intermittent periods of bad weather, with heavy rain, strong winds and rough seas.
Last week saw multiple accidents at sea as a result of rough seas which saw one foreigner injured.
