The ongoing spell of monsoon rains is expected to continue across the central region whether the Maldivian capital is located until at least the weekend, says the national weather agency.
Male’ and other areas of central Maldives has been experiencing rain showers since Wednesday morning.
When asked for a weather forecast for the next few days, an official from the Maldives Meteorological Service said the weather isn’t expected to be that server in any part of the country.
But scattered rain showers are expected to last until Saturday.
There is no threat of swell wave surges, added the meteorologist.
Scattered showers with a few thunderstorms are also being experienced across southern Maldives since Tuesday night. This is expected to continue through Wednesday, with scattered showers expected in central regions, and the weather largely clear in the north.
The seas are expected to be slight becoming moderate during showers, with waves of two to five feet.
