Zihan voluntarily stepped down, no suspension: Pres Office

Deputy Minister of Transport Hassan Zihan had voluntarily excused from his responsibilities, and is not facing any suspension according to President’s Office statement on Sunday.

The office made this confirmation in response to social media rumors that Zihan had been suspended.

As per reports, he stepped away after his designation and responsibilities were altered.

Prior to his appointment as the Deputy Minister of Transport, Zihan had been the Naval Architect First Lieutenant of the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF).

After Zihan was dismissed from his MNDF position, he had been a vocal critic of the former administration after which he was appointed to the current government role by the administration of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
