Saudi Fund’s CEO affirms continuous support to the Maldives

Saudi Fund for Development (SFD)’s CEO Sultan bin Abdul Rahman Al-Marshad has affirmed the Fund’s continuous support to the Maldives. 

Sultan Al-Marshad paid a courtesy call on Maldivian President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on Thursday afternoon.

During the meeting, President Muizzu expressed gratitude to SFD, for its continuous support and assistance for the Maldives' prosperity and development. He also expressed gratitude for the kind hospitality extended to him and his delegation during the recent Umrah journey to Saudi Arabia. 

The President and Sultan Al-Marshad held discussions regarding expanding the existing relationship between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia, as well as the ongoing initiatives in the Maldives supported by the aid of the Saudi Fund.

Sultan Al-Marshad assured his continuous support to the Maldives and expressed keenness to collaborate and further strengthen bilateral relations.

Two loan agreements will be signed during Sultan Al-Marshad ongoing visit to the Maldives; one of the loans is for the development of Velana International Airport and the other, is to develop the Maldivian health sector.
