Suspect arrested in drug operation released by court

Maldives Police Service states a suspect arrested from GDh. Vaadhoo yesterday during a counter-narcotics operation has been released by the island’s magistrate court.

The suspect has been identified as a 23-year-old Maldivian man.

As per the Police, substances suspected to be drugs were seized during a search of the suspect’s residence.

The Police further said the suspect was granted conditional release when he was presented before Vaadhoo Magistrate Court for a remand hearing.

The case is under further investigation by the Police.

Eight arrests were also made during a counter-narcotics operation conducted by the Police in Hulhumale’ Phase I last night.
