Police look for additional victims of vehicle scam

The police have made a public appeal asking people to come forward if they were swindled by Megatron Motors Maldives Wave International.

Maldives Wave is accused of stealing money from people under the false presence of selling imported cars.

The Police Economic Crime Department opened an investigation into the case in April.

In an announcement on Sunday, the police said they are looking for more possible victims of the scam.

Anyone who is a victim themselves or has information of such an incident is asked to call the Economic Crime Department’s hotline at 979-00-48.

Maldives Watch, which made a name for itself with the launch of its watch line four years ago, is suspected of stealing millions under the ruse of selling cars.
