Capsizing cargo boat righted

The cargo boat en route to G.Dh. Faresmaathoda with goods and 16 crew members onboard that capsizing on a reef on Sunday early morning, has been righted by authorities.

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) said the boat was righted around 11:10hrs on Sunday morning, for which its Coast Guard unit's divers and the boat's crew had given assistance.

The vessel en route to the south of the Maldives had capsized some time around midnight on Sunday.

Despite attempts to acquire additional information from Coast Guard, no further details about the incident have been disclosed so far.
