The Integrated Court Management System (ICMS), connecting Maldives' courts and relevant agencies, launched on Saturday.

The platform was officially launched by the Chief Justice of the Maldives Mu'thasim Adnan.

Besides the Chief Justice, the ceremony was attended by the President of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) Hisan Hussain, and the Chief Administration of the Department of Judicial Administration (DJA) Aishath Rizna.

The full-suite platform allows its general users to view the status of any cases of which they are a party to.

DJA states the system allows claimants to submit their claims applications, case registration, appointment of judges, cash scheduling, and processing of court orders and verdict statements.

According to DJA, the system will enhance clearing the backlog in the judiciary; especially in the courts, while concurrently expediting procedures related to court trials.

"I am happy to announce that with the introduction of the Integrated Case Management System today, the Maldivian legal system and the broader legal and justice sector, and other stakeholders will be connected via the same grid, paving way for streamlining the services of the judiciary," DJA's Chief Administrator said.

The platform was designed and developed with the collaboration of the UK High Commission and the UNDP.
