New members appointed to Employment Tribunal

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed new members, including a president and a vice president, to the Employment Tribunal.

The appointments were made at a special ceremony held at the President's Office on Monday afternoon.

President Muizzu appointed Is’haq Hussain as the tribunal’s new president and Fathimath Mahyra Mohamed as the new vice president.

He also appointed Shaheema Saleem, Ishara Abdul Azeez, and Sausan Ali as members of the tribunal.

Their oaths were administered by Supreme Court Justice Ali Rasheed Hussain.

The Employment Tribunal had undergone various changes over the last term, with multiple members resigning over various reasons. The tribunal had only two members at the end of the current term; Hassan Ibrahim and Mariyam Rishfa.

The appointment of new members to the tribunal follows the expiration of the term of the previous members.
