Guraidhoo constituency’s Democrats’ candidate endorses govt. candidate

The Democrats’ candidate Leela Ibrahim Manik who is contesting for Th. Guraidhoo constituency in the upcoming parliamentary election has endorsed the government candidate contesting for the constituency, Hanaan Mohamed Rasheed.

Leela’s endorsement of Hanaan was announced by Home Minister Ali Ihusan during a PNC event held at Guraidhoo on Sunday night. He extended his gratitude to Leela for her support.

Leela served as a member of the Employment Tribunal during former president Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s administration. She resigned from the post and joined The Democrats in August of last year.

Five individuals contested for Guraidhoo constituency’s PNC ticket which was won by Hanaan with 523 votes.

Prior to this, PNC’s candidate for Central Mahchangolhi constituency endorsed an independent candidate contesting for the constituency. President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has also backed the independent candidate following this.
