Pakistan High Commission in the Maldives hosted an 'Eid Milan Party' to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with the Pakistani community in the Maldives on Wednesday.

A good number of Pakistani nationals including their families and children joined the event, the High Commission said.

While interacting with the community members, Vice Admiral (R) Muhammad Fayyaz Gilani, the High Commissioner of Pakistan, expressed that Eid-ul-Fitr is the day of blessings and time to pay gratitude to Allah SWT, "who bestowed us with the holy month of Ramadan and granted us the stemma to observe the same."

The High Commissioner also extended Eid greetings to the public and the government of the Maldives and Muslims across the world. He said that "while we are celebrating this Eid; our thoughts turn to the plight of innocent Palestinians".

Gilani further urged Muslims around the world to remember their Palestinian and Kashmiri brothers and sisters "who are facing the worst kind of atrocities of the occupation forces".

Earlier, Zulqurnain Ahmed, the Deputy Head of Mission welcomed guests and extended warm Eid greetings to them. He also appreciated the national spirit and unity of the Pakistani community in the Maldives.

The guests were served with traditional Pakistani cuisine at the 'Eid Milan Party'.
