MMPRC’s DMD Bassam suspended

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC)’s Deputy Managing Director Bassam Adam has been suspended over alleged sexual harassment.

Sun has learned that Bassam was suspended on Monday.

Viral allegations on social media claims Bassam sexually harassed some female employees in MMPRC.

The corporation has yet to make a formal announcement regarding his suspension. 

However, in a statement on Monday, MMPRC said a formal complaint has not been lodged over the viral allegations on social media concerning one of its employees.

Nevertheless, MMPRC said they were verifying the validity of the allegations based on information received, adding the case has been submitted to the Disciplinary Committee to ensure necessary action from the management.

The corporation stressed that sexual harassment will not be tolerated, stressing employees found to have committed such an act will receive that harshest punishment.
