President: New lifts at Hiyaa towers will make it easier to carry sick patients

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu: New lifts being installed at Hiyaa towers will include lifts that can accommodate stretchers for sick patients.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, on Sunday, said the new lifts being installed at Hiyaa towers developed in Hulhumale’ Phase II will include lifts that can accommodate stretchers for sick patients.

Mohamed Labeeb, Kairuge, GDh. Gadhdhoo had inquired whether easier arrangements will be established to carry sick patients up and down at Hiyaa towers with the installation of the new lifts at the housing units on the ‘Raees ge Javaabu’ series; a platform that enables the public to get direct responses to their queries and concerns from the President.

Responding to the query, President Muizzu said the new lifts will resolve the issue raised by Labeeb as they include lifts that can accommodate stretchers for sick patients.

“The lifts being installed now include lifts that can accommodate stretchers. Henceforth, at the completion of the lift installation projects, these concerns raised will be resolved,” he said.

The installation of the new lifts at Hiyaa towers was contracted to China’s Shenyang Yuanda Intellectual Group on February 14th.

HDC executed an agreement with the company to install two additional lifts at each tower. Therewith, a total of 32 lifts will be installed in total at 16 towers under this project.

They include a normal lift for general use and a lift that can accommodate stretchers for sick patients.

While physical works have already commenced, the project is expected to be completed within the span of one year.

Installing additional lifts at Hiyaa towers is an electoral pledge of President Muizzu.
